Veterans House 2009 - 2013

To Whom It May Concern.
My name is Terry. I am a disabled Gulf War Vet. I would like to share with you a little of what I have been working on since 2009.  My main focus is on establishing Veterans House but there were other things that had to be done as well.  I have accomplished many goals and have failed at a few but have managed to keep moving forward.  In 2009 I met with Jonathan Schick President of Goal Consulting.

During this meeting we discussed some things like what needed to be done, the steps it would take to set up our 501c3, we went over by laws and other information but in the end to do it right we were going to have to raise a lot of money for what we wanted to do. The amount he suggested we raise was $100,000. If your heart just dropped imagine how I felt. I knew I was going to have to do something big to raise that kind of money. I decided to fall back on my old career as a musician and one of my hobbies playing poker.  I wanted to start a comedy music and poker tour for charity across the US. to help raise awareness and raise funds to help expand and put a Veterans House in every state.

I did not plan on raising all of the money needed from just a tour. That would not be enough. I started working on building an online poker room that was legal to players in the USA so me and my friends and anyone else who wanted to play poker to help my cause could start a team of poker players who play poker online and have the money from the rakes and buy in fees that we generate from our real money gameplay go to help establish and support Veterans House.  After a lot of hard work and many late nights I am proud to say that we now have three different online poker rooms where you can signup and play poker for free.  When you decide to play in any real money games the revenue you generate from your real money play will go to Veterans House and The P4AC mission. Please if you like to play poker you owe it to yourself to try out our online poker room.  It's free to download and try. It is 100% legal to players in the USA. Our team of players are always on hand to help you with whatever questions you may have. To find out more about Poker4ACause.org and receive info. send email to terry@poker4acause.org with I want to play in the subject line.

If you would like to start learning and playing poker for free in support of homeless/disabled veterans and others join our online poker room at Americas Cardroom by clicking on the banner below.

I also have an event room and offices in Dallas TX where we have charitable events and meetings for disabled vets. We also make food sacks and clothes bags that we take to the homeless in the streets of Dallas, Family Gateway, Soul Church and many other local charities.  If you would like to help me make Veterans House a reality please join and become a member of Veterans House or Poker4ACause.org. Again if you would like to join Veterans House send email to terry@poker4acause.org with I want to help in the subject line.

You can also join our pages at Facebook.  Veteran's House      Poker4ACause

Special Thanks To Garland Elks Lodge / Veterans House Update

Special thanks goes out to The Garland Elks Lodge #1984 for their contributions to the family at Veterans House.  This single mother who right at Christmas time had to go into surgery to have a large tumor removed and her two children ages 11 and 17 were able to have a very nice Christmas dinner and have stocked cupboards for the rest of the holidays. Crystal Odle who is enrolled in a program at P4AC Poker's Veterans House was in a bad state of affairs when she came to us for help.  She was homeless with two children and needed something quick. God was on her side because the two military veterans that were receiving help had just finished getting themselves back on their feet and had moved to there new places. Crystal and her family moved in and Crystal gave herself fully to the program.  We found her a job and she worked there till she found a better one. Crystal was doing very good until recently when she started having severe pain from the abdominal area. She had to undergo surgery to have a tumor removed and the jury is still out on whether or not it is cancer.  Please if you would like to help Crystal and her family or for more info on Veterans House send email to terry@poker4acause.org

The Elks, P4AC, and Veterans House Charity Event

Dear Fellow Members:

Please help us help this 14 year old child who has been placed in hospice care after a long illness.  One of our members, Preston Sams is spearheading a huge fundraiser for February 22nd to help this family out, another member Tony Jacinto has agreed to cook the food for this event.  If you can donate an auction item of any kind it would be greatly appreciated (lottery tickets, jewelry, hair cuts, pedicures, manicures, massages, oil changes, food baskets, artwork, tools, gift cards, ANYTHING that can be auctioned or raffled off or a cash donation [no item or amount too small]) it would be greatly appreciated.  There will be a car show, karaoke contest, band and other festivities.  YOUR HELP IS NEEDED!!!! and it would be nice to see dozens of our members come show the love and support for this family who desperately need our help.

Look in those eyes and ask yourself, what pain you would have if that was your child or grandchild and how hard it would be to know you only have minutes, hours, days or weeks with that sweet baby?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
